"Economic Diplomacy Doesn't Stop Here", Ambassador Dindin

On Friday, September 27, 2024, the Department of International Relations FISIP Unpad in cooperation with the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Indonesia, held a Debriefing Forum entitled “Opportunities and Challenges of Economic Diplomacy in the Non-Traditional Market.”

During the forum, Drs. Dindin Wahyudin, DEA., Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Senegal accredited to Mali, Cabo Verde, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, and Gambia 2020-2023, explained various activities and the achievements of Indonesia’s economic diplomacy in Senegal and the eight accredited countries.

Ambassador Dindin gave insight into lessons learned for Indonesia’s economic diplomacy in West African countries. For example, he explained that most of West African countries are not yet integrated into the global financial system and that local language skills are important. Ambassador Dindin concluded that West African countries have potential for the future of Indonesia’s economic diplomacy.

Irman G. Lanti, PhD., lecturer in the Department of International Relations and panelist in the forum, pointed out how Indonesia’s economic diplomacy in Africa should represent Indonesia as a South Leader for the Global South to solve South Problems.
